Attaining Sustainable Development Goals

EVRAZ endeavours to contribute to attaining the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The Group prioritizes the SDG to concentrate on the priority goals where we are able to bring about major positive effects.

Supply chain

The Group seeks to work with suppliers that are committed to the principles of sustainable development and responsible business practice. We also pay close attention to a supplier’s approach to managing HSE issues.

Sustainability
approach

EVRAZ integrates the principles of sustainable development into its business processes. The Group operates in four main areas: economic stability, employee well-being, environmental protection, and local community development.

Employees

We work continuously on ensuring the effectiveness of our personnel management practices, including those relating to employee recruitment, retention, and education; increasing employee engagement; and developing internal social programmes.

Environmental
management

We set long-term environmental performance indicators to minimise effects of our day-to-day activities, especially in three areas, which have major impacts in mining and steel casting processes: water, waste, and GHG emissions.

Health and
safety

Our approach to health and safety incorporates a number of elements, including compliance with OHS legislation, monitoring key risk factors, and promoting safe behaviour among employees and contractors.

Stakeholder
engagement

As a part of our business strategy, we strive to create value for our stakeholders. We encourage open dialogue with stakeholders and strive to maintain close and trusting relationships with all of them.

Community
relations

EVRAZ aims to build sustainable partnerships with local communities wherever we operate. Our approach includes developing local infrastructure, supporting programmes for children, sponsoring sports teams, and protecting the environment.
